The use of this site is governed by the policies,
terms and conditions set forth below. Please read them
carefully. Your use of this site, your placement of an
order, and/or your submittal of any purchase order to
the American Society for Training and Development
(ASTD) indicates your acceptance of these terms and
conditions. These terms and conditions shall supersede
any subsequent terms or conditions included with any
purchase order, whether or not such terms or
conditions are signed by ASTD. ASTD reserves the right
to make changes to this site and these terms and
conditions at any time.
ASTD provides this Web site as a service to its
members, those interested in the workplace learning
and performance profession, and to society at large,
in furtherance of ASTD's not-for-profit and tax exempt
status. ASTD (including its employees and agents)
assumes no responsibility for consequences resulting
from the use of information herein, (or from the use
of the information obtained to linked addresses) or in
any respect for the content within this site.
ASTD is not responsible for, and expressly
disclaims all liability for, damages of any kind
arising out of use, reference to, or reliance on any
information contained with the site. While the
information contained herein is periodically updated,
additional facts and information or future
developments may affect the subjects addressed and no
guarantee is given that the information provided in

This Web site is intended for use by the public for
viewing and retrieving information only, or for

You agree that the sole and exclusive maximum
liability to ASTD arising from any product sold on the
ASTD sites shall be the price of the product ordered.
In no event shall ASTD, its directors, officers,
employees, or other representatives be liable for
special, indirect, consequential, or punitive damages
related to the product(s) sold.

In the event a product is listed at an incorrect
price or with incorrect information due to
typographical error or error in pricing or product
information received from our suppliers, ASTD shall
have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed
for product listed at the incorrect price. ASTD shall
have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders
whether or not the order has been confirmed and your
credit card charged. If your credit card has already
been charged for the purchase and your order is
canceled, ASTD shall immediately issue a credit to
your credit card account in the amount of the charge.

ASTD respects the privacy of its members and
visitors to the ASTD Web site. Any and all information
collected while on the ASTD Web site is used solely
for the purposes as set forth in this privacy
statement. ASTD's Web server automatically recognizes
only the visitor's domain name and IP address, and
will only recognize additional information if that
information has been provided to ASTD by the member or
visitor. All personal information collected through
the Web site is provided on a voluntary basis by ASTD
Web site visitors through a visible means of data
entry or collection.
One of the main objectives of ASTD's Web site,
however, is to encourage networking and participation
in interactive events by ASTD members and site
visitors. To support this networking and interaction,
ASTD may require that visitors provide information to
access certain areas of its Web site. This information
may include name, email and postal addresses, phone
numbers, and other demographic information. Areas of
our Web site requiring this information generally
include any interactive area, such as forum and chat
discussions, surveys, on-site registrations, and
applications. Visitors provide this information on a
voluntary basis to gain access to these areas. ASTD
may also collect aggregate information on which pages
visitors access as they use our site as well as the
email addresses with visitors who correspond with us
directly from the Web site.
Information about members collected through the
Membership Application will be stored in the general
ASTD membership database. ASTD may use email or postal
addresses for notifying members and customers about
upcoming online events, new additions to the ASTD Web
site, or other products and services offered by ASTD.
Member contact information is also made available
through the ASTD Membership Directory, a searchable
database of members on ASTD's Web site made available
only to national members of ASTD. If you are a member
of ASTD and do not wish to be included in the
database, please send an email to
Memberservices@astd.org indicating that you do not
want to be in the Membership Directory.
ASTD does make our membership and conference
attendee list available to other reputable
organizations whose products or services we think you
might find interesting. If you do not want to receive
any mail (electronic or otherwise) from any
organization to which ASTD sells its membership
mailing list, please let us know by emailing us at
memberservices@astd.org.
If you provide your telephone or fax number on the
Web site, ASTD may contact you via telephone or fax.
Therefore, it is important that you provide us with
your correct phone number to serve you more promptly.
If you do not wish to receive further phone calls from
ASTD, please contact Memberservices@astd.org.
ASTD will use the aggregate data we collect to
perform statistical analysis of the collective
characteristics and behavior of our members and
visitors, to measure overall customer demographics,
and to analyze how and where to use our resources. We
may also use the aggregate data collected to inform
our advertisers and sponsors with an aggregate
customer profile of who is visiting the Web site and
the number of customers who have seen and "clicked" on
their advertisements.
In our chat rooms and threaded discussions, we do
collect all logins and dialogue. Dialogue in chat
sessions may be archived for later retrieval by any
ASTD Web site visitor. Personal information, personal
references, and obvious grammatical errors will be
removed from the chat transcripts before they are
archived. Otherwise, ASTD does not edit any dialogue
provided through chat or threaded discussion
participation.
ASTD, however, cannot control the acts of its
members or visitors, who use the Member Directory,
chat feature, or other interactive areas of the site.
If personal information, such as name, email
addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers, are
provided through these modules, they may be used by
other parties outside of ASTD for unsolicited e-mail
or other contact.

Your receipt of an electronic or other form of
order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of
your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our
offer to sell. ASTD reserves the right at any time
after receipt of your order to accept or decline your
order for any reason. ASTD reserves the right at any
time after receipt of your order, without prior notice
to you, to supply less than the quantity you ordered
of any item. All orders placed over $3000.00 (U.S.)
must obtain pre-approval with an acceptable method of
payment, as established by our finance department. We
may require additional verifications or information
before accepting any order.

ASTD shall automatically charge and withhold the
applicable sales tax for orders to be delivered to
addresses within Virginia. Each customer shall be
solely responsible for all sales taxes, or other
taxes, on orders shipped to any other state.

ASTD Education/Certificate Programs
ASTD Membership rates
Please note that the ASTD membership discount rates
apply only to the person who holds the membership. You
may not register a nonmember at your member rate. If a
nonmember attends a workshop registering at the member
rate, the difference will be billed.
Cancellation Policy
If cancellation should be necessary, written or
email notification to ASTD is required five (5)
business days prior to the first day of the seminar.
You may receive a full refund, minus a $100
administrative fee, up to and including the 5th
business day before the seminar. If you find that you
cannot attend, and it is less than five (5) business
days before the start of the seminar, you may send a
replacement, with written notice to ASTD. If you are
unable to send a replacement, you forfeit your
registration fee. All credits must be used within 1
year from the date of issuance.
Transfer Policy
Participants may transfer their registration to
another seminar free of charge. The transfer request
must be received in writing five (5) business days
prior to the first day of the seminar for which you
were originally scheduled. A $50 transfer charge will
be applied to all transfers received less than five
(5) days prior to the first day of the session.
Participant substitutions may be made at any time with
written notification to ASTD. If the substitute
participant is not an ASTD member and the original
participant was, the difference between the member and
nonmember rate will be billed.
ASTD Sales Leader Summit 2010 Conference &
Exposition Cancellation Policy
There will be no refunds issued within 7 days
of the event starting. All cancellations prior to the
event are required in writing and a $50 cancellation
fee will apply. Online and pre-registration ends at
6:00 p.m. EST the last business day before the event.
After this time, attendees will need to register
onsite. All credits issued must be used within a
year.

You agree that any legal action brought against
ASTD shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth
of Virginia without regard to its conflict of law
principles. You agree that the sole jurisdiction and
venue for any litigation arising from your use of or
orders made on the ASTD sites shall be an appropriate
federal or state court located in Virginia.

Test your computer
ASTD webcasts and Virtual Conferences are hosted by
WebEx. Before purchasing, test your computer(s) for
WebEx compatibility by clicking on this link and
following the instructions: http:// &.webex.com/lp/jointest.
You must run the test on every computer that you will
use to access (i.e. both your work and home computer).
Virtual Conferences also feature video. Please test
your computer for video compatibility by clicking this
link. If you cannot see the video, please view this
troubleshooting guide.
Audio
The audio for the live webcasts will be provided
through your computer speakers. There will not be an
option to dial in with your phone. Using earphones or
a headset is highly recommended.
Schedule Changes
Times are subject to change. If the details of this
event change, (such as a time change) you will be
notified via email.
Cancellation
ASTD does not permit the cancellation of the ASTD
2009 International Virtual Conference and Expo.
All sales are final.
Single Use
Purchase is single use only. You may not share
login information. Accounts found to be in abuse will
be suspended without refund. An example of abuse is
multiple computers accessing the webcast or Virtual
Conference simultaneously from the same account. For
